Since the beginning of the overdose crisis, over 30,000 lives have been lost in Canada alone, with hundreds more dying every year. Our programs—including safe supply access, overdose reversal kits, and peer-led support—are proven to prevent overdose fatalities and improve overall health and well-being. We must change our approach—because people are dying. The current response is not enough. Society's stigma, outdated policies, and unaddressed grief continue to fuel this devastating crisis. Immediate action, compassion, and innovative solutions are essential to turn the tide and save lives. We prioritize empowering individuals through non-judgmental, peer-led services that honor personal autonomy and human rights. Unaddressed stigma and grief are deadly. Societal stigma and unresolved grief are significant barriers that prevent many from seeking help or accessing lifesaving resources.
