Our Mission

Resilient Rebels Harm Reduction Hub is dedicated to revolutionizing addiction management through community-led initiatives and peer support. Founded by like minded peers,  resilient advocates with firsthand experience of street life and addiction, our hub aims to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals can access vital resources and support. We are committed to replacing outdated 12-step programs with evidence-based harm reduction strategies and advocating for safe supply initiatives. Our vision is to empower individuals to reclaim their lives, build skills, and thrive within a supportive community.

Our Story

Resilient Rebels is a collective co-directed project founded by a diverse group of individuals who share a common commitment to resilience, hope, and social change. This initiative is driven by a community of like-minded people, each contributing their time, skills, and passion in the ways they can, within their own capacities and circumstances.

Many of the founders have experienced various societal hardships—ranging from poverty to disabilities—and their journeys have shaped the heart of this movement. The project is rooted in the understanding that resilience is forged through adversity, and that collective effort can bring about meaningful change.

Inspired by personal stories of overcoming hardship and a shared desire to support marginalized communities, Resilient Rebels aims to create spaces, programs, and initiatives that empower individuals, challenge systemic failures, and foster hope. It’s a community-oriented effort, built on the belief that everyone’s struggles and strengths are vital in shaping a better future—one where no one is forgotten or left behind.

Our values

At Resilient Rebels Harm Reduction Hub, our foundational principles are rooted in compassion, innovation, and community empowerment. We are committed to meeting individuals where they are—without judgment or stigma—and delivering evidence-based harm reduction strategies that prioritize safety, dignity, and holistic well-being.

Our dedication to challenging outdated models, such as traditional 12-step programs, is driven by current scientific research and a recognition of the evolving landscape of drug use and addiction. We advocate for progressive policies, including the implementation of Safe Supply programs, which affirm the right to health and respect for all individuals experiencing substance use challenges.

Furthermore, we believe in fostering a peer-led environment that emphasizes skill-sharing and personal development. Through our unique initiatives like:

  • Creative Expression & Arts Program
  • Sustainable Forestry & Land Stewardship
  • Culinary Skills & Food Justice Project
  • Skilled Trades & Carpentry Workshops
  • Herbal Medicine & Traditional Remedies

we aim to facilitate meaningful reintegration into society, build resilience, and cultivate a profound sense of belonging and purpose. Our core values guide us in creating a transformative space where individuals are empowered to reclaim their lives with dignity and support.

Who we help

At Resilient Rebels Harm Reduction Hub, we serve individuals navigating the complex realities of substance use, mental health, grief, and trauma. Our approach is rooted in unwavering compassion and respect, recognizing that healing often involves addressing not only addiction but also the profound impacts of loss and emotional pain.

We believe that every person deserves dignity, autonomy, and access to support tailored to their unique circumstances. Our commitment is to meet individuals where they are—without judgment or stigma—and provide evidence-based harm reduction services that prioritize safety, holistic well-being, and emotional resilience.

Understanding that traditional models like 12-step programs may fall short for many, especially those coping with grief and trauma, we advocate for progressive, science-informed policies such as Safe Supply programs. These initiatives affirm the right to health and respect, offering a compassionate alternative grounded in current research and best practices.

Beyond immediate harm reduction, we foster a peer-led environment that emphasizes skill-sharing, personal growth, and community reintegration. Through initiatives in Creative Expression & Arts, Sustainable Forestry & Land Stewardship, Culinary Skills & Food Justice, Skilled Trades & Carpentry Workshops, Herbal Medicine & Traditional Remedies, and a dedicated program for Grief, Loss, and Social Justice, we aim to facilitate meaningful reintegration into society, foster resilience, and cultivate a profound sense of belonging and purpose.

"Resilient Rebels is not just an organization; it's a lifeline. Their innovative approach to harm reduction, combined with genuine compassion, has transformed countless lives in our community."
